The Iowa MAHA, Make America Healthy Again, initiative was something that Governor Kim Reynolds spoke about in her Condition of the State Address. State Senator Kara Warme says the bill has gone back and forth between the House and Senate this session.
There are a total of 11 divisions on the bill, she talks about one important to her.
Another piece to the bill talks about screen time in schools for elementary students. Warme was a big supporter of the bill that cut down cellphone use in schools for middle school and high school students.
This Bill would limit classroom instruction via a Chromebook to 1 hour a day for Elementary aged students. The MAHA Bill passed Senate yesterday on a 30 to 16 vote and now goes to the Governor.
