According to Alliant Energy, about 2,500 customers will be affected by a planned power outage this morning.  The outage will start at 8am and last for about an hour to two hours.  The affected customers are those who got a phone call on Monday from Alliant Energy.

Alliant Energy says the affected customers are north and east of the city of Marshalltown.  The affected customers will be in Conrad, Beaman, Garwin, and Lincoln areas.  They emphasized that no one in Marshalltown will be affected.

This is needed to upgrade the substation
