Starting today, the next phase of the Main Street project will begin.  Heather Thomas, Marshalltown Public Works Director, predicted in February they would begin in late March.

This construction will cause E Main Street to be closed that one block east of Center Street starting today.  Pedestrian access to all businesses will remain open.

The project on Main Street and State Street have been a complete overhaul with the utilities under the road as well.  Thomas says this section should be easier.

Thomas says they are targeting an event in May from the Marshalltown Central Business District to have the event space ready on the northside of the Courthouse block
