UPDATE: The Marshalltown Police Department has arrested 29-year-old Allen James Hart of Mount Pleasant. He has been charged with three crimes:
Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent – Class “C” Felony
Reckless Use of a Firearm Resulting in Injury – Class “D” Felony
Reckless Use of a Firearm Resulting in Damage to Property – Aggravated Misdemeanor
The three surviving victims have all been released from the hospital. The case remains on-going and the Marshalltown Police Department is assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

Early Sunday morning around 4:15, Marshalltown police were called to a residence in the 100 block of N 11th Ave. for a shooting.  Once on scene, officers found two victims who had been shot.  The victims said the person who shot them had fled the area on foot.  The two were then taken to Unity Point hospital for treatment, one of the victims succumbed to injuries sustained.  A short time after the original two victims arrived at the hospital two more gun shot victims were admitted to the hospital.

According to police, there is no indication that this was a random act of violence. More updates will be provided by the police department as this is an on-going investigation. Any information should be sent to the Marshalltown Police Department.

This investigation is on-going and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Marshalltown Police Department.  Victim information is being withheld pending family notifications.
