The Bobcat boys traveled down to Des Moines, to the Casey’s Center for wrestling Wednesday – Saturday. Seniors Dalton Zednichek and Nick Wise were both still alive and battling at State Wrestling on Saturday. Zednichek was on the consolation side working for at least third place. Zednichek faced Andy Franke from Muscatine in the 3rd/4th place match and Franke got the win by pinfall at the end of the third period in 5:48 giving Zednichek a 4th place finish.
At the 144 weight class, Nick Wise was in the championship match against Wil Oberbroeckling from Southeast Polk. Oberbroeckling was able to get two back points and an escape for 3 total points which was enough to beat Wise who only could manage 1 point for stalling. Wise ends his senior year as the #2 wrestler in state.
