This week’s New Dish at Noon is “Warning You Whiskey” from Brit Taylor Born raised in Eastern Kentucky. Taylor is Appalachian to her bones, and she possesses a deep understanding of the place and its people that well serves her new album, Land of the Forgotten.

Taylor thought back on stories of strong-willed Appalachian women throughout her life. “They loved their men fearlessly, even when all they really deserved was a good ass-whoopin,” she laughs. “I love that the woman in this song is never mad at her man, but she’s madder’n hell at the bottle of whiskey in his hand.”
