Last night the Marshalltown Community School District discussed the calendar for the 2026-2027 school year. Due to state law in Iowa, school cannot start until Monday, August 24th, the day after the state fair ends.
That is Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Theron Schutte, and the final day of the school year will be June 3rd and teachers will have a final professional development day on June 4th, barring any snow days next year. A public hearing was set for the calendar for the February 22nd regular board meeting.
