Today starts the Second Session of the 91st General Assembly for the Iowa Legislature. Both House and Senate will meet today for the first time and it is all set to start at 10am at the Iowa Capital.
Locally we will have representatives; David Blom a Republican who represents District 52. Brett Barker a Republican who represents District 51. Barker and Blom both were elected in November of 2024 and this will be their second year in the house. Dean Fisher a republican representing the 53rd District is serving his fifth term.
In the Iowa Senate, Kara Warme will be there to represent the 26th District. Warme will be a guest on Open Forum later this month and will rotate with Brett Barker throughout the session.
