Officially on January 1st, Joel Greer handed the rains over to Mike Ladehoff as the new Mayor of Marshalltown. Greer spent the last 8 years as Marshalltown’s Mayor through a lot of difficult times. During Greer’s time as Mayor Marshalltown experienced a tornado, derecho, COVID pandemic, and Legionnaire’s Disease outbreak.
Greer says the project he is most proud of is getting the bike trail started and put in across Marshall and Hardin County. This was a project that started while he was a City Councilor.
Greer is confident with Ladehoff and the Council moving forward
Ladehoff has been Greer’s Mayor Pro-Tem and ran a few meetings in the last few years. Ladehoff will run his first meeting as Mayor on Monday, January 12th.
