Clearing snow from all of the roads across all of Marshalltown is a major project.  This is not something that takes just a couple hours, it is a multi-day process that has over 10 trucks running majority of the day.  Rick Legg is the city of Marshalltown’s Street Superintendent and he says they first look at the type of storm we are getting.

He says during those long duration storms the plows retrace their steps multiple times

In total the city has 12 trucks that can plow snow and 16 people on the team to drive the trucks.

Legg says the best thing people can do to help the plow drivers is to remove your car from the road.  Whether you are on a snow route or not.
