Director of Health and Safety at Story Medical Center, Michelle Stapp, says the best bet to not spread any disease this holiday season is to stay home.  People cannot catch what they are not exposed to.

Stapp says if people cannot avoid gathering when feeling under the weather a good rule to keep in mind, wash your hands.

To keep from germs spreading in the food, Stapp suggest to have serving utensils for all the dishes.  Even the finger food, that way no one is sticking their hands directly into the bowl.

One of the reasons disease spreads more easily in the wintertime is due to the weather keeping people inside.

Stapp recommends to not share any food or drink, if someone wants to share their tasty drink with you, grab a new cup or glass instead of drinking out of theirs.
