Friday morning was a special day on the Northeast side of Marshalltown as MARSHALLTOWN Company unveiled the Tallest Round-Handled Brick Trowel in the world.  The trowel is 32 feet tall, 10 feet wide, and weighs 1,800 pounds.   The crowd for the ceremony filled the corner of 8th Ave. and E Main Street as Chamber President John Hall, Arts and Culture Alliance Director Amber Danielson, Mayor Joel Greer, and MARSHALLTOWN CEO Joe Carter all spoke.

Carter talked about the trowel being a symbol for how far MARSHALLTOWN Company and the community has come.  The backside of the sculpture has graphics that shows the history of MARSHALLTOWN Company and the impact they have had in Marshalltown.  The sculpture and plaza is open to the public and people are encouraged to use the space.
