On November 6th, Marshall County Public Health released their final Legionella update on their Facebook page. Part of that update was that there had been 28 consecutive days with no new cases in Marshall County and we are on the other side of the outbreak.
That is County Director Sydney Grewell. She says that business center did do the disinfection process that was requested of them so the threat to the public is no longer there. The sample did not match the human sample sent to the lab.
Grewell says this is a good reminder that people need to practice good water management and make sure those things are clean, especially CPAP machines you use daily. About 70 cases of Legionella will occur across Iowa on a typical year
