The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to 5 different incidents on Saturday night, all on the northside of town. Of the 5 calls, 4 of them were for fires. On Tuesday, November 4th, with further investigation by Fire Investigators and Detectives, a suspect was developed and arrested. Alan Herman Bonin, 54, of Marshalltown, was arrested and charged with; Arson in the 1st degree and Arson in the 3rd degree.
Bonin was booked into the Marshall County Jail on no bond and is awaiting an initial appearance. The Marshalltown Police Department was assisted by the Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshall County Communications Center, UnityPoint Health Marshalltown, Alliant Energy, and Marshalltown Public Works.
