This Saturday a free battlebot competition is happening on the Marshalltown Community College Campus. Doors for the gymnasium are set to open at 9:30am with the competition to start just after 10am. Engineering Professor, Evan Frodermann, explains what the battlebot competition is.
The two divisions are 1-pound and 3-pound bots. Frodermann says this is the 2nd year they are doing this event and again they have teams from local businesses like Mechdyne, Emerson, and more. The bots will battle for 2 minutes in each round or until one is disabled.
Frodermann says the real challenge is watching the teams patch and fix their bot between rounds as the winner usually takes some damage as well. Learn more about this event at mcc.iavalley.edu
