Yesterday, Marketing and Events Manager with the Marshalltown Area United Way called the KFJB line to give an update on their annual campaign. The United Way is looking to raise $900,000 this year to support 30 local programs and 25 agencies.
Norton says an easy way to support the United Way is to attend an event. Their big fall event is the Power of the Purse and that is coming up on Thursday, October 16th, or 1 week from today.
This year they plan to have a full dinner, doors open at 4 and dinner is served at 5 with the auction to start at 6pm. This will all take place at the Midnight Garden. They have also added in another feature with the silent auction.
