As more and more people find vehicles online, that means vehicles are potentially manufactured under a different set of rules. One of those differing rules is window tint, and in Iowa window tint in the front-side windows need to be at least 70% light transmittance but there is no rule for the back-side and rear windows.
That is Police Chief Chris Jones who says people can stop by the station to check their tint without fear of getting a ticket. He understands that other states have different laws and that’s how majority of these issues occur.
He says a ticket for window tint is $130 and habitual offenders may have their licenses suspended until it is fixed.
