The City of Marshalltown received a request from a new business going into the Willards Building on Main St. that will have to-go and pick up food orders to have some short term parking stalls. The request was for two spots on 1st St. to be 15minute parking for their store only.
That is Marshalltown Public Works Director, Heather Thomas. She says nothing was finalized with the Council on Monday night but they are leaning towards adding some shorter term parking in downtown.
From the conversation on Monday, Council was looking to add the shorter term parking on the side roads and not on Main St.
