Friday, Mid-Iowa Council, Scouting America, held their annual Governors Luncheon for Scouting in Des Moines. They had a goal this year to raise $200,000 for scouting in Central Iowa.
That is Matt Hill, Scout Executive for the Mid-Iowa Council. Hill did not have a final tally, yet, but he did share that he is confident they will make it to their $200,000 goal. Hill shares how this money will be used to continue to grow scouting.
Hill feels that every child should have an opportunity to attend summer camp and have that week long experience in the woods. Mid-Iowa Council had Camp Mitigwa near Boone.
Hill shares that he is still friends with guys he went to summer camp with as a child. People can learn more about Scouting in central Iowa by visiting ScoutingIowa.org
