Recently the Iowa House passed what’s been referred to as “Mason’s Law”. This law has been championed by a family from Grinnell who has a young boy who received a terminal diagnosis at 2-years-old. When he was about 7, his family was struggling to find proper hospice care and a way to help with his pain.

That is Iowa Senator, Kara Warme, who is a supporter of this bill. She was able to sit down with Mason’s family and talk further about their vision.

The Senate did add an amendment to the bill and passed the bill unanimously.

Once the governor signs this bill it will the law will take effect immediately and these facilities can begin to operate in Iowa.
