The Iowa Legislature passed a law about using an electronic device while driving. Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips, joined the KFJB line yesterday to talk about the new law. He says since the no texting law passed it 2017, they learned it is difficult to enforce.
Governor Reynolds signed the bill on Wednesday last week and it will officially go into effect on July 1st, which bans the use of electronic devices while driving.
If there is a crash involved that fine will increase to $500 and if it causes death it will be a $1000 fine. Iowa is now the 31st state in the country with a hands free law.
