Announced earlier this week by Jennifer Hart, Marshalltown Recreation Supervisor, over the Marshalltown Community School spring break, the City will offer some basic classes for those interested in Lifeguarding.  The classes will be a baseline for individuals who want to eventually take the Lifeguarding class.

People will have to have a basic understanding of swimming, these practice days are not here to teach people how to swim.  They are to help people build up the strength and confidence to pass the class.

Reach out to Jennifer Hart at the Park and Recreation office with the City of Marshalltown if you are interested in being a lifeguard or you know someone who may be interested.  The city will pay for the training if you work at the Aquatic Center all summer.
