The Marshalltown High School athletic department has announced the hiring of Todd Oberthien as the new head coach for the Bobcat baseball program.

As a former player and coach, Oberthien has exemplary leadership skills, extensive knowledge of baseball and genuine passion for the game, according to high school athletic department officials.

Oberthien currently serves as housing coordinator and assistant baseball coach for Marshalltown Community College.
