Marshalltown will again be the swimming capital of the state this weekend, as the YMCA/YWCA hosts the Girls State High School Swimming and Diving Championships. Y Aquatic Director Shelley Lechnir notes that the Girls Association is no longer allowing tailgaiting, plus there is now a charge for parking for the swim meet.

But if you are among the volunteers for the meet, you do not have to pay to park. The diving competition begins at ten tomorrow morning, with the swimming prelims at five, Saturday, the swimming finals will begin at noon at the Marshalltown Y.
