The Marshalltown City Council received an update on the work in progress that is MPACT—or Marshalltown Police and Community Team. That is the project Marshalltown Police and YSS are combing forces to provide social workers to assist police with calls of family disputes, domestic disputes, and other non-violent emergency calls. This program has received overwhelming support from the community, the Council, and elsewhere. YSS Executive Director David Hicks realizes that expectations are high.

Job postings have been issued for two full-time workers to join with the cops, as the program continues to take shape with an eye towards a January start.
