One good item from the state’s website, there are no longer any central Iowa long-term care facilities on the outbreak list and that includes the Iowa Veteran’s Home. While things are far from normal at the facility, it is also repairing damage post derecho. Initial estimates of damage were in the four to five million dollar area. Since then, Commandant Timon Oujiri says the only estimate increase is due to the fire escape damage on Heinz Hall.

Oujiri says eight residents had to be relocated within Heinz Hall due to the damage caused by last month’s wind storm.
