This is Preparedness Month in the state, as Iowans are being encouraged to take steps now to be ready in the case of emergencies and disasters. Many of us are already aware we never know when an emergency may sneak upon us.

Marshall County Emergency Management Coordinator Kim Elder says you never know when help might reach you during an emergency, so it’s in your best interest to be ready.
