The 121st year of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce was celebrated last night at its annual banquet, and also with the announcement of some structural changes. Six years ago, the decision was made to form the Marshalltown Regional Partnership as the umbrella organization for the Chamber, Economic Development and Convention and Visitors. Outgoing Chamber Board chair Dan Moeller says the new structure will provide better efficiencies.
So, the MRP is no more. Lynn Olberding has been elevated to the President and CEO of the Marshalltown Area Chamber, with one board overseeing all facets of the Chamber.
Last night, the Chamber also recognized JBS with its Community Impact Award for what the company does not only for the local economy but for the entire community.
