Two economists warn the escalation of trade tensions with Mexico will “speed up” the arrival of a recession. One is ISU Extension Economist Chad Hart. The other is Creighton University economist Ernie Goss, who says farmers and rural communities “are getting hit very hard” by tariffs that have already been imposed.
Goss says his calculations indicate the probability of a recession in early 2020 has doubled in the past 18 months.
