UC-Irvine scored nine runs in the fifth inning to put the game away as the 18th ranked Anteaters beat Iowa 15-4 to salvage the final game of their three-game series. It was Iowa’s
third straight series win for the Hawkeyes but it was also the third straight series where Iowa was unable to complete the sweep.
At 29-17 the Hawkeyes are considered an NCAA bubble team. They return to action Friday by opening a Big Ten series at home against Michigan State.
