Area residents will be able to not only get an update on mental health issues, as it relates to new legislation, but to engage some experts as well Thursday night in Marshalltown. Iowa Veteran’s Home psychiatrist Doctor Douglas Steenblock and Center Associates Director Doctor Paul Daniel will join Democratic State Representative Mark Smith in the discussion. Smith is hopeful the talk of stopping the talk and taking action on mental health in the legislature is taking root.

The meeting will run from six to eight Thursday evening at the Fisher Community Center.
