Voters in the Gilbert Community School District will express their opinion at the polls Tuesday on a proposed long-range facilities plan to renovate its schools.
After 2 1/2 years of planning, a bond referendum will ask Gilbert community members if the school district should issue $14 million in general obligation bonds to renovate all four district schools and multiple athletic and fine art facilities.
Voters will also head to the polls in Ames on Tuesday for much the same reason.
A bond referendum on Tuesday will ask community members if the district should issue $110 million in general obligation bonds to build a new Ames High School and also expand Edwards, Meeker and Mitchell elementary schools.
60 percent voter approval is required to pass the bond issues in both communities.
