At the State Baseball Tournament at Des Moines: the match up for the Class 1-A finals is set up, Mason City Newman defeated defending champ Remsen Saint Mary`s 2-0 and Martensdale Saint Mary`s beat Akron Westfield 6-1. the championship game between Newman and M-S-M will be at 11 tomorrow. Newman is 34-3 and M-S-M is 41-4. In the Class 2-A semi-finals, Dyersville Beckman upended Iowa City Regina 7-0 and Carroll Kuemper Catholic took care of Centerville 6-2. the 2-A finals are tomorrow at 1:30, Beckman is 31-11 and Kuemper is 22-12. Today the 3-A and 4-A semi-final round games will be played: Harlan plays Sioux City Bishop Heelan at 11, Davenport Assumption takes on Dubuque Wahlert at 130 in 3-A, at five in class 4-A Iowa City West tangles with Dowling Catholic, then Waukee opposes Johnston at 7:30. the 3-A and Four A championship games tomorrow are at 5-pm and 7:30 pm.
