At the Marshalltown City Council meeting Monday, council approved a bid by ConStruct of Marshalltown to do demolition an earth moving work at the site, if all goes well to begin in early August. The price tag will be 596-thousand dollars. In other news from the council meeting, property has been turned over to businessman Garrett Goodman to develop the old Standard Oil building at South First and West Madison Streets. And a construction order has been given for the West End Futsal Courts along 13th Street, a public hearing will be held August 14th and bids are due on August 21st.
