At the State baseball tournament in Des Moines Friday, in Class 1-A Mason City Newman defeated CAM of Anita 1-2 and Remsen Saint Mary`s beat North Linn 5-1.

The champions of the State Softball Tournament at Fort Dodge include Kee High of Lansing, Iowa City Regina, Davenport Assumption, Winterset and Pleasant Valley.

The Iowa Cubs lost to Oklahoma City Friday night 4-3.

Other minor league scores of Iowa teams Friday: Fort Wayne over Clinton 4-3, Bowling Green beat Burlington 9-7, Cedar Rapids got past Great Lakes 7-4, Quad Cities blasted Lansing 14-3, Sioux City knocked off Gary 10-0, it was Willmar over Waterloo 11-4.
