Iowa workforce development says the unemployment numbers for Marshalltown and Marshall County are dropping but the numbers are higher than they were a year ago. The unemployment rate for May was 3.7% compared to 4.4% in April. In Marshalltown proper the rate was 4.2% compared to 5.0% in April. One year ago in May the unemployment rate was 3.7% in the Month of May.
