The Iowa State Patrol reports a 34 year old Postal Service worker from Grinnell was killed Friday afternoon in a two vehicle accident in downtown Marshalltown. Amy Sanders died, first responders pried her out of the vehicle a 1993 Chevy Grumman. The accident took place at 12:04 p-m. The other driver is identified as 60 year old Debra Meister of Waterloo. According to the accident report the Meister vehicle was going southbound on Center Street and was going through the intersection on a red light, the Sanders vehicle was westbound on Church Street, going through the intersection on a yellow light. The Sanders vehicle hit the Meister vehicle on the drivers side. The Marshalltown Police and area first responders were on scene, the case was turned over to the State Patrol who investigated and continue an investigation.
