Marshalltown Fire Chief David Rierson says there were two major fire calls in the city this past weekend, one was to 103 South 12th, no one was hurt and damage was pegged at ten thousand dollars, fire was visible from the rear of the home as crews arrived, the fire likely started at the rear of the home. An investigation continues. The other incident was a roof collapse at a commercial business at 700 North 3rd Avenue. Chief Rierson says a natural gas odor was originally detected, two of three businesses were open at the time. No one was hurt, no estimated damage amount was made.
