The political candidates of the area running for state offices took part in a candidates forum held at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Marshalltown on Wednesday. The event was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and was the second such forum of the week. One of the candidates in the race Nathan Wrage who is challenging Dean Fisher for a seat on the Iowa House of Representatives was not able to be there. For State Senate both candidates, Steve Sodders and Jeff Edler were on hand, and Mark Smith who is running unopposed for the House District 71 seat also was present. The candidates fielded questions for a ninety minute time frame as the event was held during the middle of the day.
