The Marshalltown School Board, at their meeting on Monday, accepted the resignation of Board Director, Ben Stansberry by the margin of 5-0, with no commentary made on the matter. Stansberry was recently arrested by the Marshalltown Police Department on charges of theft and trespass. He tendered a letter of resignation last Friday. In other news from the meeting, board members re-elected Bea Niblock as President and Janelle Carter as Vice President. Art teacher Wade Judge talked to the school board about a design he helped create to beautify a pedestrian walkway in downtown Marshalltown that utilizes multicolored arrows that point in both directions. Judge says he was very pleased with the opportunity to be involved in such a project. Senior Class President from Marshalltown High School, Morgan Van Staalduine and Senior Class Vice President, Trevor Lewis spoke to the School Board about Homecoming Week activities which are in progress.
