High winds have damaged a Ferris wheel at a minor league baseball field in Davenport. Winds reaching 60 miles per hour caused about 15 of the Ferris wheel gondolas at Modern Woodmen Park to be damaged Friday. General manager of the Quad Cities River Bandits, Andrew Chesser, says the manufacturer examined the Ferris wheel Monday to assess damage and check for any mechanical issues. Chesser says the wheel is still scheduled to open on May 1st.
