With more time needed to work out a final agreement, Unity Point Health and Amerigroup of Iowa have extended their contract for their Medicaid Health Plan.
The two-week extension means patients will still have coverage, at least for a few more days. Officials of Unity Point, which of course operates the hospital in Marshalltown, say they expect a final decision on a new contract with Amerigroup will be made by January 12th.
