The National Weather Service reported winds of 62 miles-per-hour during a pop-up storm that blew through the area Friday night into Saturday morning. There was a report out of the Marshalltown area of two and a half inches of rain. The rainfall total at the Marshalltown Airport amounted to 1.43 inches. There were power outages reported by Alliant Energy in four counties in the listening area and tree damage reported including at the Riverside Cemetery. The Marshall County office of Emergency Management reported some windows blown out in the Liscomb area. The warmest temperature recorded in Marshalltown during the heat wave was 94.
