Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Today is the day, the Automatic Traffic Enforcement cameras will be turned on.  The program will start with a 30 day warning period.  If you are caught speeding by the speed cameras on Lincoln Way or S 12th Ave. then you will get a ticket in the mail.  During the warning period the ticket will just be a warning, but starting June 22, 2023, they will be issuing tickets.  So you are aware of the fines, 11-20 mph over = $100, 21-25 mph over = $150, 26-30 mph over = $250, and 30+ mph over = $400.  Drivers will have 30 days after receiving the mailed violation to pay the fine by mail or through an online payment system.  You can contest the ticket in writing within the 30 day window, and you will have to appear in court.  Pay attention to the new cameras up on Lincoln Way by the Lincoln Towers and S. 12  Ave. between Olive and Southridge Rds.
