Here’s today’s question. Do you know what neurofibromatosis is? It’s commonly known as NF and it is a genetic disease that affects one in 3,000 people. It is a chronic disease that does not have a cure. It causes tumors to form in the brain, spinal cord and nerves, which can be very painful. Beth Koester of Gladbrook has an 8-year old son, Tate, who was diagnosed when he was 2 ½. Tate doesn’t realize much about the tumor behind his right eye, but he knows all about Saturday’s Shine A Light NF Walk on Saturday at 9:00 am in Cedar Falls.
