Who’d of thunk that a convenience store in the downtown Marshalltown area would sell more lottery tickets than any other location in the state? Lottery spokesperson Mary Neubauer says it’s true…the Jiffy Convenience store led all locations with lottery sales of $1,309,725.50. Neubauer says there were undoubtedly a lot of people who tried the lottery games for the first time as they looked for entertainment during the pandemic.

A Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids was about $200,000 behind the North 3rd Avenue JIffy. The lottery sellers benefited from the record sales — as they were rewarded with a record of nearly 30 million dollars in commission.
