Thursday 25th April 2024

Thursday afternoon brought a flurry of activity which continues to have a lot of folks scrambling…and wondering.

It began with an announcement from Lennox that its Marshalltown plant was in an emergency shutdown through the weekend. While the company did not state a reason, there was plenty of social media chatter about the company using the shutdown to do some deep cleaning due to an employee being diagnosed with Covid-19.

Roughly an hour later, Marshall County Public Health announced the first confirmed case in the county of Covid-19. Aside from the individual self-quarantining, little other info was released. The Marshall County case is not among the updated total of 179 released yesterday by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

State Center Mayor Steve Sodders said in a release said he would be adding to his City Proclamation that there should not be more than 5 people at any one time in a public place.
