The Marshalltown City Council in meeting Monday approved a one million dollar development agreement with owners of a proposed 93 room Holiday Inn Express. In other developments council got an update on progress on the joint police and fire station building project. Plans are full speed ahead to obtain property where the Knights of Columbus Hall sits and also land owned by the Community Y’s. Plans to hire a Construction Manager are also moving forward, and a design agreement contract has been approved with the architect Prochaska and Associates out of Omaha. The discussion on the subject of converting Linn and Church Streets to two way traffic was tabled to give the media time to get the word out to the public about the idea and to foster public input.
