(Des Moines, IA) – A Des Moines Doctor has agreed to pay a five-thousand-dollar fine to settle allegations that he carelessly prescribed painkillers to his patients. The Iowa Board of Medicine has accused Dr. Edward Steinmann of willfully and repeatedly violating the standards of practice for pain management. Attorneys for Steinmann say, the Doctor agreed to a settlement in order to avoid a long drawn out battle with state regulators.
