Lots of attention this afternoon for the funeral of Charles Lanam who was a resident of the Iowa veterans home who passed away. A funeral service for Lanam will be held on the grounds of the Iowa Veterans Home at 1:30 this afternoon.

A week ago Marty Mitchell of Mitchell Family Funeral Home put up a post about the passing of Lanam, who had no family and no survivors to speak of.

Since then there has been an effort to create attention with people, and the media, to be a part of the honors for Lanam.
